Curaçao bids farewell to World Cup football

The World Cup football is definitely over for Curaçao. In Group E with Germany, Ecuador and Ivory Coast, the team finished last after three matches.

What happened?

Curaçao had to win against Ivory Coast to still have a chance to advance to the next round. However, it soon became clear that the Africans did not intend to cooperate with the dream scenario.

An early goal from Nicolas Pepe quickly threw a spanner in the works and the rest of the game Ivory Coast was the dominant team. Pepe also made the 2-0 after more than an hour and thus decided the fate of Curaçao.

How did the campaign go?

Curaçao debuted, scored the first goal ever, picked up the first point ever and made it a party. Check out the final standings in Group E.

What's next?

The players and coach Dick Advocaat can leave the United States with their heads held high. Curaçao has left a good impression and can be proud of its performance.
